The Traveling Boxcar Rules
The Traveling Boxcar Moderators are: Chris Barany
and Greg McMurry
1. The moderators, will keep a register of
the people on the shipping list in approximately the order of when they
asked to be on the project.
2. The moderators will send the next recipient
a US mail confirmation to verify the shipping address. When you receive
the letter, sign it, make any corrections and return it to the address
indicated by US mail.
3. When we have received your confirmation
by return mail, we will notify the person who currently has the car where
it is to be sent next.
4. Once you receive the Boxcar, you should
send an email to
boxcar@trainyard.net.
Here you tell all of us when you received the car and where you are located.
Something like "The Boxcar Has Arrived Safely on May 15th in South
Chicago".
-
Please make sure that at least one of the pictures shows the Traveling
Boxcar where you can clearly read the writing on the side.
-
All pictures should be 800 by 600 pixels and in the jpg format. Smaller
pictures will be enlarged, larger pictures will be reduced.
-
Identify your favorite photo. We will try to arrange the photos based
on your preference.
-
Please include written descriptions of your layout or any other data you
would like (as long as it is train related). Many are telling a story
with their pictures. We all enjoy that kind of effort.
6. While all this is going on, the moderators
will be readying the next recipient of the Traveling Boxcar and will inform
you where to send the Traveling Boxcar when you are finished.
7. Please don't keep the Traveling Boxcar
longer than 7 days. This is important. It will take several
days to ship between members. With over 50 members this trip could
take almost 2 years.
